How we research, write and review the guidance on this site.
Purpose and independence
Our guides help you understand air-conditioning options and make informed decisions. They are written to be useful and impartial, not to favour any particular product or installer.
Research and sources
We base guidance on manufacturer information, industry standards and official UK sources, and cite authoritative sources where relevant. We avoid invented first-hand claims and unsupported superlatives.
Authorship and checking
Pages carry a byline, show published and updated dates, and list their sources at the foot of the page.
Where a page is marked "Checked against published UK guidance", each regulatory, planning and pricing claim on it has been checked against the official source cited for it. That is a source check, not a technical review: no certified engineer signs off these pages, and we do not claim otherwise. Nothing here replaces a site survey by a qualified installer.
Guidance, not advice
Our content is general guidance for the UK market, not personal, legal or financial advice. Always confirm the specifics for your property with a qualified installer.
