The 2025 refrigerant rules, briefly
Since 1 January 2025, GB F-Gas regulation has prohibited placing on the market new single split systems containing less than 3kg of F-gases where the refrigerant's global warming potential is 750 or more — which ends new R-410A single splits (GWP 2,088) and makes R-32 (GWP 675) the mainstream choice, with propane (R-290) growing [1].
